Hearing impaired systems are used to alert the deaf or hearing impaired to the activation of a fire alarm.
If you have sites with residential areas or visitors and guests that are resident on your premises, you must ensure that the deaf or hearing impaired will be alerted to the activation of the fire alarm system whilst they are sleeping.
Cintrix Systems can supply, install, commission and maintain a range of DDA-compliant fire safety products for the deaf and hearing impaired to comply with the current Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), Regulatory Reform Act (RRA) and the Disability Equality Duty (DED).
Stand Alone Systems
We can supply ‘stand-alone’ bedside units which are wireless and acoustically triggered. They incorporate a strobe and a vibrating pad, which is placed under a pillow. Upon the fire alarm sounding, the flashing strobe, vibrating pillow and LCD provide visual indication that the fire alarm is sounding, allowing the individual to carry out their evacuation.
For the larger premises, we can supply Integrated Systems, which consist of a control panel connected directly to the fire alarm system. On activation of the fire alarm system, pre-defined messages are sent to vibrating pager units carried by individuals alerting them to the alarm.
The system can also incorporate bedside units, which incorporate a strobe and a vibrating pad, which is placed under a pillow. Upon activation of the fire alarm system, a signal is sent to the bedside units to activate the strobe and the vibrating pad to wake the sleeping individual.
All our systems comply with BS 5839-1:2002.
